“Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.”
-Plato
“The most important things are the hardest to say, because words diminish them.”
-Stephen King
“The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives.”
-Anthony Robbins
Communication is a complex beast that many well-meaning and even well-educated people spend their lives struggling to tame, whether they realize the struggle or not. The difference between a proficient communicator with a bachelor’s degree and a poor communicator with a master’s can easily be the difference between a career path that leads to CEO and one that never makes it past mid-level management. This blog will be my attempt to continually practice and refine my skills in what I consider to be one of the most powerful tools in my utility belt. (No, not truth serum- communication! Are you even listening? Whatever.)
Refinement will not always be the goal, but rather industry insight, entertainment and general life observations and experiences will all fill the posts of BooneRiddle.com. For those of my visitors who are industry associates, I hope to share a glimpse of my personal life and personality. AIM just doesn’t have quite the same ability to progress a friendly relationship as does a mobile upload of my boxer urinating on my Christmas tree. For those of my visitors who are friends and family, I hope this blog will shed some degree of light on what exactly I do for a living (hint: I make money online– but never, EVER Google that. Ever. Seriously. EV-UR.). Either way this blog will be me in a nutshell, so welcome to my world.
